The University of Mumbai (known earlier as University of Bombay) is one of the oldest, premier and amongst the first three Universities in India. The University was accorded 5 star status in 2001 & 'A' grade status in April 2012 by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). It has been granted University with Potential for Excellence (UPE) status by UGC and PURSE Scheme by DST. At national level, it has excelled in sports, cultural and outreach activities. In the last five years it has seen 104% increase in undergraduate students, 112% increase in post-graduate students and 147% increase in distance - education students.
Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University (YCMOU) was established in July 1989 and is named after Yashwantrao Chavan, Maharashtra’s great political leader and builder of modern Maharashtra. It is the fifth Open University in India. The jurisdiction of the university, originally for the State of Maharashtra, has now been extended beyond this State and the university can now operate anywhere across the globe.
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) is the trade association for the world’s airlines, representing some 250 airlines or 84% of total air traffic. IATA now support many areas of aviation activity and help formulate industry policy on critical aviation issues.
