Apeejay Institute of Hospitality was selected for the “Best Learning & Development Center”award at the 4th GOLDEN STAR AWARDS 2011.

Under this category, other learning centres that received awards were the Oberoi Centre for Learning and Development, The Taj Aurangabad and The Leela Academy.

The Award aims at understanding the ambition & aspiration levels that differentiate one hospitality organization from another and their relentless effort in pursuit of excellence by being at the vanguard to cater to the expectations of customers. The award is a benchmark to motivate individuals and organizations to excel in their profession thereby signifying progress and saluting the professionals who have made a difference to their organizations. Mr. Bhuvan. G.M., Principal, Apeejay Institute of Hospitality and Mr. Shirish Bokde, Head of the Department, Apeejay Institute of Hospitality received the award on 9th February 2011 at the Taj Lands End, Mumbai.

About the Award

The “Golden Star Awards” are national awards for "Excellence in Food, Hospitality, Services & Food Retailing"

INTENT OF THE AWARD : It is about felicitating the hotels and airlines along with their best employees who have taken that extra step and thus differentiated themselves from good hotels to exceptional hotels and from good employees to the best employees.

RECOGNITION : The Golden Star Awards are national awards. On the day of the award ceremony the jury members announce the award winners and present them with a trophy and a citation that sets a benchmark for other hotels to emulate. Moreover it is a feather in the cap for the award winners.

SELECTION : An Independent Jury Comprising of Sr. Professionals from the Hospitality & Service Industry judge the entries and decide on the best among the good in the respective categories.

HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY INCLUDES hotels and motels; boarding establishments; condominiums and establishments of a like nature; health or recreational farms; private hotels, guest houses, serviced apartments; caravan parks; ski lodges; holiday flats or units, hostels, or any other type of residential or tourist accommodation; Spa's, wine saloons, wine bars or taverns; resorts; caterers; restaurants; food court retailing; airline and its function areas; convention or like facilities.
