Apeejay Institute of Hospitality was selected for the “Best Learning & Development Center”award at the 4th GOLDEN STAR AWARDS 2011.

Under this category, other learning centres that received awards were the Oberoi Centre for Learning and Development, The Taj Aurangabad and The Leela Academy.

The Award aims at understanding the ambition & aspiration levels that differentiate one hospitality organization from another and their relentless effort in pursuit of excellence by being at the vanguard to cater to the expectations of customers. The award is a benchmark to motivate individuals and organizations to excel in their profession thereby signifying progress and saluting the professionals who have made a difference to their organizations. G.M., Principal, Apeejay Institute of Hospitality and Mr. Shirish Bokde, Head of the Department, Apeejay Institute of Hospitality received the award on 9th February 2011 at the Taj Lands End, Mumbai.

The “Golden Star Awards” are national awards for "Excellence in Food, Hospitality, Services & Food Retailing"

INTENT OF THE AWARD : It is about felicitating the hotels and airlines along with their best employees who have taken that extra step and thus differentiated themselves from good hotels to exceptional hotels and from good employees to the best employees.

RECOGNITION : The Golden Star Awards are national awards. On the day of the award ceremony the jury members announce the award winners and present them with a trophy and a citation that sets a benchmark for other hotels to emulate. Moreover it is a feather in the cap for the award winners.

SELECTION : An Independent Jury Comprising of Sr. Professionals from the Hospitality & Service Industry judge the entries and decide on the best among the good in the respective categories.

HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY INCLUDES hotels and motels; boarding establishments; condominiums and establishments of a like nature; health or recreational farms; private hotels, guest houses, serviced apartments; caravan parks; ski lodges; holiday flats or units, hostels, or any other type of residential or tourist accommodation; Spa's, wine saloons, wine bars or taverns; resorts; caterers; restaurants; food court retailing; airline and its function areas; convention or like facilities.

Welcome to Apeejay Institute of Hospitality - Hotel Management College, Mumbai

Welcome to Apeejay Institute of Hospitality, a premier hotel management college located in CBD Belapur, Mumbai. Established in 2007 under the Apeejay Education Trust, the institute offers a 3-year Bachelor Degree programme in Hospitality Studies (Hotel Management) affiliated to the University of Mumbai. The programme is recognized by the Government of Maharashtra and the University Grants Commission.

Apeejay Institute of Hospitality shares its premises with The Park Navi Mumbai and is under the aegis of Apeejay Surrendra Park Hotels. It is the center of learning for the group's Management Training Programme, Executive Training Programmes, Professional Development Programmes, and consultancy projects for the hospitality industry.

The institute has a highly accomplished faculty team drawn from academics, supplemented by visiting faculty from reputed institutions, experts from The Park Hotels, and professionals from the Hospitality and Services sector. The campus has world-class facilities and a separate hostel facility for girls and boys.

Apart from the university curriculum, the institute offers three Professional Development Programmes (PDP) to the BSc.Hospitality students to keep them updated on the latest industry trends and practices. The students also have the advantage of getting hands-on operational training at The Park, Navi Mumbai, undergoing industrial training at any of The Park properties or associated organizations and take up careers within the hotels or any other hospitality segment.

Apeejay Institute of Hospitality's alumni are currently working with top hospitality majors like The Park Hotels, Zone by The Park, The Oberoi Hotels, The Taj Group of Hotels, ITC Hotels, IHG, Accor Hotels, Marriott Hotels, Hyatt Hotels, The Leela, Hilton Hotels, TATA Starbucks, McDonald's, Reliance, Makemytrip.com, Booking.com, Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, Jubilant FoodWorks, and many more. They are handling key responsibilities and have reached middle management positions. Some of them have ventured into entrepreneurship and family businesses.

Besides the university curriculum, the institute offers 3 Professional Development Programmes (PDP) to the BSc. HS students to keep them updated on the latest industry trends and practices.

In 2011, the institute received the Golden Star award as the Best Learning and Development Centre. The institute completes 16 years of operations in 2023, and the 14th batch will be graduating in April 2023.
